Taekwondo essay:
I started Tae Kwon Do about 3 ½ years ago but I had been doing martial arts even before then. The first martial art I ever attempted was Aikido, a form of Judo. I stopped after a few months because I didn’t think I was learning very much. Next I tried a few other Tae Kwon Do schools but stopped those after a few weeks due to lack of interest. A few months later we were driving down Bee Cave Road and noticed the sign for West Lake Tae Kwon Do Plus out of the corner of my eye. I asked my parents to stop so we could take a look. My parents went into the parking lot and we got out of the car to ask about classes but it was closed. However, luckily for me, there was a class schedule posted in the window. I cam back the next day and took my first class at Mr. McCulloch’s West Lake Tae Kwon Do Plus. When class was over I told my parents how great the class was and that I wanted to come back again. I have been taking classes ever since.
This school has really changed my life. I have learned many things but I think the most important is the tenets. I believe the tenets are more important than kicking or punching because without them I wouldn’t be who I am today: a Tae Kwon Do Instructor.
